In 1966, Investigators from various California Public Defender offices created the Defense Investigators Association (DIA).
DIA conducts professional training in the area of criminal defense. Annual seminars and the Defense Investigators Training Academy (DITA) offer training opportunities in a variety of investigative subjects
DIA membership includes “Active” and “Associate” members. Benefits include discounts to association training, the association newsletter and access to a network of criminal defense professionals.
The caliber of investigative talent represented by the Defense Investigator Association (DIA) is unparalleled. DIA Board Members serve a two-year term to support the noble profession of defense Investigations. The only requirement is that you are an Active member in good standing (Associate Members do not qualify) and you must have a passion to work for the membership.Next DIA Board election will be mid-2024
