Congrats to Investigator Nelly De La Mora from San Diego County, Alternate Public Defender. Nelly is a DITA Graduate, a journey level investigator, Bilingual, and always a team player. Along with supporting the Department’s Investigative Internship program and being a great mentor, she is always willing to help out her team. Nelly started out as an Investigative Intern in the APD Office in the summer of 2018. Amongst all the myriad of challenges and successful outcomes Nelly has had, her passion and dedication to our clients stood out even more in this year. She handled several homicide cases alongside her additional regular caseload of felony cases, and had three homicide trials in as many months where she supported the attorney in preparation as well as in court. One attorney she works with noted that “Nelly possesses a remarkable ability to tackle complex investigative tasks with thoroughness, dedication, and precision.” This is why she was selected, you're an inspiration to us all Nelly! "There’s so many different investigators from so many different counties that I (am) able to talk with and connect with…and that I learn so much from. I’m very excited to apply that in my future as an investigator..
